(information is given on making him in a 14" size too)

Cloth Doll Making Class

by Gail Kellison
Gail's Stitch N' Splinter Patterns

Galen is shown as an Elf and as a Leprechaun. The dolls are made of felt and robe velour.  Both are made basically the same way.   The class teaches how to make the 28" doll as an elf,  but I will also explain how to make the beard for the leprechaun and how to make either doll in a smaller, 14", size.   Galen stands without support in both sizes without using pipe or wire in the legs.   In this class, you will learn to do simple soft sculpture, how to place eyelids (with eyelashes) over purchased eyes, how to make posable fingers, and how to make gloves as hands.  Anyone with some basic sewing experience will be able to make these dolls.  Full size patterns are included in the class.

The following is the class schedule:

Chapter 1:  The Head and Face

Chapter 2:  Body and Legs

Chapter 3:  Arms and Gloves

Chapter 4: Tunic and Felt Elf Hat

Chapter 5: The Beard & Hair For A Leprechaun
