Hailey JO
Miss Teen USA
Approx. 17" Doll

© 2001 Gail Kellison

Hailey JO has the young, youthful figure of a teenager.  She has well defined hips and breasts. She is a more detailed version of Willow, the Keeper of Silent Wishes.

The two dolls have some similarities, but are also very different.

Like Willow, Hailey JO has a head that turns, and a cloth face that is attached to the head (a mask).  If mistakes
are made, it can be removed without messing up the entire doll!

Hailey JO has acrylic eyes and I show you a simple way to add teeth.

She wears a stretchy little crop top, along with a dropped-waist imitation leather skirt.  Under her skirt, she is wearing "thong" panties. Patterns for all of her clothes are included in the class.

You will also learn to make the imitation leather boots.  Complete instructions are given, but, if you prefer a more simple way to add the boots, they can also be painted on the feet.

Hailey JO will remind you of a "Barbie Doll", but she is made entirely of robe velour.

I hope you will join us in class and learn to make this great little teenager!

The full sized pattern is included online.

Willow
The Keeper of Silent Wishes

Approximately 17" Tall
Cloth Doll Making Class - by Gail Kellison

© Gail Kellison 2001

Little frog, I hear your silent wish.  I know you want to return to the handsome prince you once were.   For you see, I am Willow, the Keeper of
Silent Wishes.
I hear those that can not speak or choose to tuck away their dreams in silence.  So for you, my little friend, I will give one wave of my magic wand and you will become a handsome prince once more!

You will love making Willow!

She has a shapely body made of cotton.  Her face is a mask - also made of cotton or muslin.

If you haven't used a mask before on your dolls, you  will soon realize that the wonderful thing about using one is  that if you make a mistake, you can remove it and make another mask.

You don't ruin the whole doll!

In this class, you will also learn to make a head that turns from side to side.  Her fingers can be simply stuffed or there are instructions to make them posable.

Also included are instructions to make a long pile fake fur wig.  However, the hair can be made of other things, such as mohair or yarn.

The face is sculpted and the features are drawn on using colored  pencils, pens, or paint.

There is even a chapter in the class that shows you how to make the little frog!

Willow is easy enough that anyone with basic sewing skills can make her......yet even experienced doll makers will love the  way her body is constructed!
